The Cricketers Pub in Westcliff is the place to go for live music, a wide range of spirit, craft beer and cocktails, oh and amazing food too.

Giovanna Coroallini is the general manager of the pub, and she has used her expert knowledge on wines to shape the pub’s menu.

She was a junior sommelier for Michelin star London restaurant Galvin La Chapelle. Her dad Carlo also creates a lot of the wonderful dishes at the pub and so they have been working together to master mind some great dining experiences.

This includes a wine tasting evening on Thursday 3 March where guests can enjoy a six-course tasting menu for £40 person and for an additional £30 they can pair the meal with some fabulous wines that have been specially paired with the food.

The Corallini family have run the pub for the last eight years and Giovanna has been general manager for two years.

The team includes mum Cassandra, dad Carlo and sister Cristina.

“The Cricketers was one of the first pubs in Southend and dates back to the 13th century,” said Giovanna.

“We have established ourselves as the go to pub for live music. The pub has a capacity of 200 people and we really draw in the crowds for our live events.”

The spirit collection includes more than 70 different types of gin, the cocktail menu features tasty handmade delicacies such as Aperol Trees, Negronis, Campari G&T's and many more.

“All of our cocktails are served with dehydrated fruit for added flavour,” said Giovanna. “The chef only uses fresh and local ingredients, to guarantee amazing flavours and aromas.”
