A LARGE military aircraft was spotted flying over parts of Southend earlier today.

Simon Murdoch shared his photos of the plane, which was seen in the skies in and around the city's airport.

It is understood the RAF transport aircraft, an Airbus A400M Atlas, was carrying out circuit training exercise at the airport this aftfernoon.

The aircraft, which is part of the RAF Air Transport Command, was on a flight from RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, where it is based.
