A CARDBOARD photo stand-in of Nigel Farage is causing quite a stir online.

Pictures have emerged of a new attraction at Southend’s Adventure Island.

The seafront amusement park has installed a photo stand-in of the former Brexit Party leader.

A photo stand-in is a large board with an image printed on it and that has one or more holes cut out where people can stick their face through the board for humorous effect.

Text on the stand-in reads: "Southend City welcomes 'Sir' Nigel Farage"

Images of the attraction have caused a stir on social media, with many residents flocking to share their opinions on whether it was appropriate.

Swatting away criticism, Adventure Island CEO Philip Miller said: “We made the photo op as a tongue in cheek bit of seafront fun in honour of Nigel Farage visiting us; he absolutely loved it as seen on my twitter!

“He came to town to record his GB News hour programme he filmed live from Southend which was a great advert for Southend City.

“Over half of the country would be in favour of him receiving a knighthood which is tons more than many of the recent choices.

“It’s strange really that the referendum was years ago and yet people are still divided. We have remoaners and leavers still arguing the toss with all sorts of people who should know better being very spiteful to Farage.”
