Police have confirmed a person was injured following an incident on the railway in south Essex.
Greater Anglia was forced to suspend all services between Shenfield and Wickford yesterday evening, informing passengers it was because a person had been hit by a train.
British Transport Police says one person was rushed to hospital but did not suffer serious injuries.
The incident happened near to Billericay station.
A spokesman said: "Officers were called to Billericay station at 7.47pm yesterday (22 March) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended and a person was taken to hospital for assessment.
"Thankfully their injuries are not deemed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious."

The incident saw all Greater Anglia services halted for a short period yesterday.
Some lines reopened later in the the evening but no trains ran between Liverpool Street and Southend Victoria for the rest of the day.
Bosses said they struggled to source replacement buses for stranded customers but did provide some transport during the evening.
Those affected were also allowed to travel on c2c services.
