Nearly a dozen motorists were caught breaking the law in just two hours during a police operation in south Essex.
Officers from the Basildon Community Policing Team were out patrolling streets in Wickford and Billericay in response to reports of speeding in several areas.
The team said they were interreacting with the public and providing a visible presence to deter what they labelled as ‘nuisance’ drivers.
But it didn’t stop 10 motorists from breaking the law, with each one issued a ticket by police.

Officers said: “This operation saw tickets being sent to drivers who failed to meet specific driving standards required.
“They worked at two sites with a staggering ten tickets issues within the course of two hours. A top speed of 44mph in a 30mph zone.
“We’re working hard to reduce deaths and road traffic incidents.
“Please drive carefully.”
