POLICE seized cash, crack cocaine and heroin after stopping a suspicious car in Rayleigh.

Essex Police officers spotted the car in Raleigh driving suspiciously.

The car was stopped, and two men were searched, with officers seizing cash, and £,1800 of crack cocaine and heroin hidden in their boxer shorts.

An Essex Police spokesman said: “The south disruptor team were conducting patrols in Rayleigh when their attention was drawn to a suspicious car in the area upon stopping the car both males were detained for a drugs search.

“£1,800 of crack cocaine and heroin were located concealed in their boxer shorts and both males have been charged and remanded for possession with intent to supply class A drugs and are now awaiting their court appearance in the morning.”

Essex Police has three disruptor teams focused in tackling crimes and anti-social behaviour which impact communities.

Sergeant Adam Jarvis, of south disruptor, said: “Drugs and crimes associated with drugs and drug use cause harm to vulnerable people, blight communities and can also lead to more serious types of crime and violence.

“South disruptor is here to tackle this, but we need your help and information to do so.

“Please tell us what you know about criminal and anti-social behaviour in your area. Car number plates, names, CCTV and doorbell images are particularly helpful, but any information related to crime and criminality may be useful to us.”
