Drivers have been warned traffic lights on a main road into and out of Braintree are not working.
The lights on Coggeshall Road at the junction with Cressing Road and Marlborugh Road are impacted.
One junction has the lights stuck on red, while the other is stuck on green.
Essex Highways have been made aware.
In a post on Facebook Braintree Police said: "Coggeshall Road - Traffic safety alert ⚠️ Please be aware that two set of traffic lights along Coggeshall Road in Braintree are currently faulty.
"The lights affected are on the junction of Coggeshall Road with Cressing Road (by Tesco Express) and Coggeshall Road with Marlbourgh Road.
"One junction has all lights stuck on green and the other has all lights stuck on red.
"We have made Essex Highways aware of this incident.
"Please pass at low speed and be aware of your surrounding as other vehicles/pedestrians may be appearing out of a junction unexpectedly."
