The seafront show, which has been running for almost a decade, is staged by the the Southend and Distict Classic Car Club.

Hundreds of residents flocked to the seafront for the event, which will now take place every third Sunday of the month through until October.

The Easter classic car display saw a breath-taking collection of vehicles, with the only qualifying criteria being that the car is at least 25 years old.

Shoebury resident Bill Shorer is one of the organisers.

His grandson Harry Murkin, 20, of Shoebury, said: " We have got a Rolls Royce and a 1926 Pontiac Big 6.

"We have got a Daf van and there are only six in the country and three on the road in the minute. So that is very rare."

"It is quite funny because you see people who have no idea about the show and then at the next one you see them turn up with their mates.

"And you have another three of four more people at every single show."

Harry, who is also a car enthusiast, said he is now looking forward to getting his own vintage car - a classic Mini.

And when asked what he enjoys the most about the annual show, without a second of a doubt he said "it is the people".
