THE A127 has been closed in both directions following a serious crash.
Essex Police says the closure is in place at Childerditch near Brentwood and traffic is being held on both sides of the road.
Emergency services were first called to the incident, which happened on the London-bound carriageway, at 10.30am.
Long queues have formed back to Dunton, and long delays are also being reported on the A128.

A police spokesman said: "We need anyone who witnessed the incident or has dash cam footage of it to contact us.
"If you have any information, call 101.
"Please quote incident 329 of Monday 25 April."
