A man suffered a possible fractured eye socket and a fractured leg during a racially motivated attacked.

Police are investigating the attacked in Benfleet where a man was targeted by a group of about 10 men.

It happened in Essex Way at 11.10pm on 30 April.

It was reported the victim, a man in his 30s, was talking on his mobile phone when he was pushed to the floor and kicked repeatedly to the head and leg.

He was left with a suspected fractured eye socket and fractured leg.

An Essex Police spokesman said: "We are treating the attack as racially motivated as the victim believes he was targeted due to his nationality.

"We need anyone who saw anything or has any CCTV, dash cam, or doorbell footage to contact us.
