A man who died following a collision on Canvey Island last month has been described as “loving, funny, caring and friendly” whose death will leave “a massive hole in so many hearts” as his family pay tribute to him.

Lenny Emberson, 22, was seriously injured in a collision involving a car and the motorbike he was riding on Central Avenue on April 4.

He was taken to hospital but later died there on April 23.

In a statement his mum said: “Lenny was such a whirlwind; you always knew when he was in a room.

“He was a loving, funny, caring and friendly boy. He would do anything he could to help anybody, he loved his family, motorbikes, cars and dog.

“He was a very social person and had many good friends. He had grown up so much in the last few years and was turning into a lovely young man.

“My house is never going to be the same again. Lenny has left a massive hole in so many hearts, he will be greatly missed by me, his brothers, family and friends.

“I can't thank enough all the staff at the Royal London Hospital for everything they did for Lenny and the support they gave me and the family. I would like to thank all the people who helped him at the scene as well.

“I have set up a just giving page for Essex & Herts Air Ambulance whose actions allowed me and the family three more precious weeks with him.

“A part of me will be missing forever."

Essex Police are asking for anyone who witnessed the collision or has any CCTV, doorbell or dash cam footage of it to submit a report online and quote the incident 766 of Monday, April 4.
