A MAJOR road in Essex was closed in both directions following a serious crash.
The A130 was closed in both directions shortly after midnight after reports of a collision involving a motorbike
The incident happened on the northbound A30, close to the junction with the A12 at Great Baddow.
The road was closed in both directions for several hours, with the northbound side still closed due to accident investigation work ongoing.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “We are at the scene of a serous collision on the A130 near Chelmsford.
“Our officers were called shortly after midnight today, Monday 9 May, to reports of a collision involving a motorcycle.
“Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.
“We would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the collision or anyone who has dash cam footage.
“If you have any information, you can submit a report online at https://www.essex.police.uk or use the 'Live Chat' button to speak to an online operator between 7am-11pm.
“Please quote incident 2 of 9 May.
