A MAJOR road in Essex has reopened in both directions following a serious crash earlier this morning.

The A130 has reopened hours after officers were called to reports of a crash involving a motorcycle.

The incident happened northbound, close to the junction with the A12 at Great Baddow, shortly after midnight today.

The road remained closed throughout the night before opening around 8am this morning. 

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “The A130 has reopened in both directions following a serious collision near Chelmsford.

“The road reopened at around 8am, and we would like to thank motorists for their patience.

“We would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the collision or anyone who has dash cam footage.
