Police have been called to a major road in Rayleigh after a “two vehicle collision” closed the street to motorists.

Officers from Essex Police were called to Rawreth Lane at 6.40am this morning following the incident which blocked traffic in both directions between Chelmsford Road and Madrid Avenue.

In a short statement police said they had been called to the street earlier this morning and are still there as the incident is ongoing.  

A spokesperson said: “We are at the scene of a two vehicle collision in Rawreth Lane.

“Our officers were called at 6.40am this morning, Wednesday 11 May.”
