A FRIENDLY, fun pub with a focus on great craft beers, Mariners Court pub and restaurant has a prime spot on Leigh Broadway.

There is a welcoming atmosphere and is a draw for people to watch all the major sporting events.

Chris Huggett has been managing the pub for nearly ten years and loves to set the scene for a great time for guests.

“It is a friendly pub and I tell the team to make a point of finding out people’s names and welcome them. We don’t just do service, we do hospitality,” said Chris.

“Our themed nights are back on the last Saturday of the month. They are fun nights and the team loved getting dressed up, we’ve been all sorts – pirates, Mexicans, in Hawaiian outfits, you name it.”

Visitors can relax with a drink and enjoy a meal by day and by night. Visitors can enjoy Mariners Court liven up whilst socialising and soaking up the buzz on Broadway. The drink menu has a vast line-up of cocktails and they are two for £12 all day Monday to Friday.

They also have a wide range of draught drinks including craft ales and lagers from Brixton & Beavertown breweries, and an extensive wine list.

“We have two new beers on draught, Beavertown Gamma Ray and Heineken Silver, and a new cider, Inch’s Cider. We have 13 draft beers and ciders and we have a real focus on craft beers. There is a wide range of gins and a new wine supplier,tokeepuptodate with the best wines,” said Chris.

There are a range of seasonal dishes, as well as classic pub favourites, with a modern twist. Dishes include cheeseburger and fries, scampi and fries, mac and cheese, nachos, sharer plates of chicken, hunter’s chicken, homemade beer battered fish, various burgers and a variety of stone-baked pizzas.

What has been Chris’ most special time at the pub in the years he has been there? “For me, the most memorable time was during the last Euros, there was such a great atmosphere in the pub,” said Chris.
