RESIDENTS are being urged to stay away from a south Essex rubbish tip due to a fire.
Basildon Council says access to the Barleylands Recycling Centre is blocked because of the nearby blaze on Barleylands Road.
It tweeted to say the road was currently 'inaccessible'.
The Council added: "We will update further once the situation changes. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."

First Essex says its has made alterations to its 300 service as a result of the incident.
AA's live traffic map suggests the fire is related to a vehicle and the road is blocked both ways.
Essex Fire Service has been contacted for comment.
