A FUNDRAISING football tournament aims to raise £50,000 for a homeless charity

AJ Chambers, a Rochford based recruitment agency, is holding a seven-a-side tournament between 32 local businesses to help raise funds for Harp.

World Cup-on-Sea, which takes place on Saturday, May 21, takes place at Southend United's football ground Roots Hall.

The tournament is aiming to raise £50,000 through ticket sales, sponsorships, and charitable donation.

Jackie Bliss, chief executive of Harp, said: “We rely greatly on the support of the local community to fund our vital, life-saving work with local people affected by homelessness, and the money raised by our amazing business community at the event will help greatly in our mission to help every person in Southend who comes to us for support. Thank you so much to everyone involved!”

Andy Hilliard, managing director of AJ Chambers said: “It is vitally important for us to support the work of Harp in helping vulnerable people in the Southend area escape homelessness."
