A motorcyclist suffered a leg injury after a crash near a school.
Emergency services were called to the crash in St Nicholas Lane, Laindon at 5.29pm yesterday.
Officers say the road was shut for a number of hours and the biker was taken to hospital with a leg injury.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We were called at around 5.20pm on Thursday 19 May following reports of a collision involving a car and a motorcycle in St Nicholas Lane, Laindon.
"The rider of the motorcycle - a man 50s - was taken to hospital after he sustained a leg injury.
"The road was closed whilst emergency services dealt and reopened around 9.20pm. Anyone who witnessed the collision should call 101 and quote 881 of 19 May."
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called just after 5.15pm to a road traffic accident on St Nicholas Lane in Laindon involving a motorcycle.
"An ambulance, senior paramedic in a support vehicle and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were sent to the scene. The patient, an adult man, was airlifted to The Royal London Hospital for treatment.”
