Round up of cases in the south Essex magistrates courts

Here's our latest round up of cases in front of the magistrates.

Cara Bentley, 33, of Watts Crescent, Purfleet was in court over driving offences.

On October 23 in Grays she drove a car in West Thurrock Way while disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence.

A Community order made. The defendant must comply with the following requirements by July 11 2022: Curfew Requirement with Electronic Monitoring: Be under a curfew for 10 weeks with electronic monitoring. Start date May 2 from 6pm to July 11 at 7am. Curfew details: Daily curfew between 6pm and 7am to remain at 12 Watts Crescent, Purfleet, including the garden.

She was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £95, costs of £105 to the Crown Prosecution Service and she was disqualified for holding or obtaining a driving licence for 18 months.

On the same day and in the location she used the car when there was not in force in relation to that use such a policy of insurance or such a security in respect of third party risks.

There was no separate penalty.

Wilson Turney, 28, of Southchurch Avenue, Southend was in court in connection with claims of assault.

It's alleged that on April 30 in Southend he allegedly assaulted a woman. He's been remanded on bail until June 6 at Chelmsford Magistrates Court for a case management hearing.

It's also alleged on the same day he assaulted a man, he's also been remanded for this matter to the same date, court and for the same reason.

Joshua Celikten, 21, of no fixed abode was in court in connection with allegations of drug offences.

It's alleged that between September 9 and April 29 in Southend he allegedly conspired together with other persons to supply a quantity of crack cocaine.

It's been sent for trial at Basildon Crown Court on May 30.

It's also alleged that between the same dates and in Southend he allegedly conspired together with another person to supply a quantity of heroin.

This has also been sent for trial at the same court and on the same day.

It's also alleged that between August 3 and April 29 in Southend he allegedly conspired together with another person to supply a quantity of cocaine.

Frankie Cubberley, 21, of Broomfields, Basildon was in court in connection with allegations of ABH and threatening behaviour.

It's alleged that on February 28 in Essex he allegedly assaulted a man thereby occasioning him, actual bodily harm.

This has been sent for trial at Basildon Crown Court on May 30.

It's also alleged that on April 28 in Essex without lawful excuse, he allegedly threatened a woman that he would slash her tyres belonging to her, intending that she would fear that the threat would be carried out.

This has been sent for trial at Basildon Crown Court on May 30.

It's also alleged that on the same day in Basildon he allegedly unlawfully and intentionally threatened a man with a knife, in such a way that there was an immediate risk of serious physical harm to that person.

This has been sent for trial at Basildon Crown Court on May 30.

David Ford, 37, of Cunningham Close, Shoebury was in court in connection with allegations of breaching a sexual harm prevention order.

It's alleged that on or before April 29 in Southend without reasonable excuse, he allegedly did something, namely acquired and in possession of an internet enabled mobile phone that has the ability to store digital images, that you were prohibited from doing by a sexual harm prevention order made by Basildon Crown Court on August 22 2019.

This has been sent for trial at Basildon Crown Court on May 30.

Gavin Allen, 45, of Loxford, Basildon was sentenced in connection with offences against an emergency worker.

It was alleged that on October 26 2021 in Basildon he assaulted Alex Finch, an emergency worker, namely Police Constable, acting in the exercise of his functions as such a worker.

This entry replaced by offence number 2.

On the same day in Basildon he resisted Alex Finch a constable in the execution of his duty.

He was ordered top pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £34, costs of £105 to the Crown Prosecution Service and Application made for benefit deductions. Sum to be recovered £239.00.
