Officers are appealing for information and witnesses after a robbery in Westcliff.

A man in his 20s was reportedly approached by a car as he waited at the junction of Westborough Road and Ramuz Drive at around 12.15am on May 12.

The victim reported seven men got out of the vehicle and attacked him.

One of the men struck the victim’s leg with a baseball bat and his mobile phone was taken.

The suspects are described as seven white men, between 25 and 35-years-old.

They were wearing hoodies and jeans or tracksuits and spoke with what is believed to be East European accents, Essex Police says.

Following the robbery, the men left the scene in a Black Vauxhall Insignia 09 plate.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the incident or anyone who may have doorbell or dash cam footage.
