Rail enthusiasts are set to enjoy a luxurious steam train journey cross country for a special day-trip.
Steam Dreams has announced its newest day trip for Southend, with a train heading to Portsmouth in September.
Day-trippers will travel in classic train carriages such as Pullman coaches, and can pay for packages which include a champagne breakfast and evening meal.
The train will leave Shoeburyness at 6.50am and stop at Southend East at 7am.
Another stop is schedule for Barking at 8.15am, skirting London and heading out through Surrey before finally arriving at Portsmouth at 1.30pm.

Upon arrival, day-trippers can visit Southsea Castle and the D-Day Museum for an insight into the city's past, or explore the range of fantastic independent shops and eateries in Albert Road.
The return trip leaves Portsmouth at 4.30pm and will get into Southend East at 10.45pm, before terminating at Shoebury at 10.50pm.
Prices for the experience start from £119, with the top price for Pullman style dining costing £284.
This trip will be steam hauled between West London and Portsmouth in both directions.
It takes place on September 6, 2022.
