TV crews were at Bell Wharf Beach in Leigh this morning for ITV’s This Morning.
The much-loved show was filming a special segment celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee ahead of the big bank holiday weekend starting on June 4.
Appearing live on the show, Lisa Snowdon spokes with newly elected mayor councillor Kevin Robinson and launched a £100,000 giveaway.
Surrounded by flag-waving residents, Lisa Snowdon said: “I am here in Leigh in Southend and we are having a celebration for the Queen’s Jubilee coming up next weekend.
“It’s going to be massive here in Southend, I know it.”
A Southend Council spokesman said: “TV were filming live segments on the beach in Leigh for This Morning and Loose Women today and The Mayor Cllr Kevin Robinson got to chat with presenter Lisa Snowdon live on air!”
ITV were giving away £40,000 in cash and a caravan motorhome worth £60,000.
