ONE side of the A127 in Southend has been closed this afternoon following a crash.
The collision happened near to the Toby Carvery, between Rochford Road and Manners Way (A1159).
The eastbound carriageway - which takes traffic towards Southend - is now shut as a result, according to Essex Traffic Control Centre.

Delays are being reported in the area, with queues on the eastbound side forming back to the Tesco Extra roundabout.

Essex Police has since confirmed a closure is in place.
UPDATE 5PM
A cyclist is fighting for their life in hospital following the incident.
The collision involved a car and bike, police have said.
