Officers are urgently appealing for help to identify a woman who is fighting for her life after a serious crash.
The woman was involved in the crash with a bike and car on the A127 at Cuckoo Corner in Southend this afternoon.
Police say they need witnesses to come forward and help to identify the woman following the crash.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We are urgently appealing for information to help us identify a woman who has been seriously injured in a collision this afternoon, Friday 27 May.

"Our officers were called to the A127 in Southend, close to the junction with Victoria Avenue, shortly after 2pm.
"The collision involved a car and a bicycle. The cyclist – a woman aged between 40 and 50 - has been taken to hospital in a life threatening condition.
"Despite extensive enquiries, we have been unable to identify her, and we are now asking the public for help.
"She is described as white, of slim build and with blonde, shoulder length hair. At the time of the collision, she was wearing a flowery dress.
"She was riding a black Carrera Mountain bike. If you have any information, please call us on 101 and quote incident 603 of 27 May."
