Essex Police is appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted on the M25.

A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a suspected attack on the motorway.

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Officers were called to the hard shoulder of the anti-clockwise carriageway between junctions 25 and 26, close to Waltham Abbey, at 5.25pm yesterday.

A 37-year-old man from London has been arrested on suspicion of GBH, failing to stop and driving whilst unfit through drink/drugs.

He remains in custody at this time.

Enquiries are ongoing and police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage to get in touch.
