HIGHWAYS chiefs have stated a road closed for three days following a dramatic tanker fire has now reopened.
Canvey Way has been shut since about 5pm on Wednesday after eight fire crews tackled the blaze at Sadler’s Farm roundabout.
Castle Point MP Rebecca Harris has revealed the tarmac relaying and repainting has finished at the site in Benfleet, with the road reopening shortly after 3pm.
Mrs Harris said: “They [Essex County Council] say once the road paint has set and the safety and diversion equipment has been taken away, the road will reopen.
“The road will be open but they also say the damaged traffic lights will be replaced on Monday, so please take care extra when using the Sadler’s Farm junction until then.”
