Two people got away after failing to stop for police officers and crashing into a bollard entering Canvey.
A Vauxhall Insignia failed to stop for officers from the Essex Police Operational Support Group in Benfleet last night.
It then crashed into a bollard as it entered Canvey and two people got out of the car and ran, getting away.
The vehicle has been seized as it was found to have no insurance registered and officers say enquiries with the owner will be carried out.

Essex OSG tweeted: "An Insignia failed to stop for one of our units in Benfleet and crashed into a bollard as it entered Canvey.
"Two people got out and ran but unfortunately got away.
"The vehicle has been seized for no insurance and enquiries with the owner will be carried out."
