TWO sisters will bring double the trouble to the catwalk as they put family ties to one side and compete to win a beauty crown.

sisters Nicola, 29, and Claire, 26, Redgrave have both been selected to compete in this year’s Miss London pageant.

Born and raised in Basildon, the duo are on a mission to promote body positivity, and help others overcome bullying, eating disorders and mental health issues, having both struggled themselves at school.

“I was bullied quite severely throughout most of my time in secondary, “Claire said.

“My sister had dealt with similar things. I also battled with an eating disorder while my sister had problems with body image.

“We have struggled with mental health so we want to be able to help people by shining a light on those issues.”

The duo will be lining up against each other but with two spots up for grabs at the Miss Great Britain pageant in October, there is a chance they could both qualify for the national competition.

Although the sisters are Basildon-based, they have work connections and family ties that allow them to qualify for Miss London.

They out themselves forward for the London competition as there is no Miss Essex pageant this year.

Nicola has been competing in beauty contests since 2016, but Claire is new to the scene.

“I used to go and watch her compete and really liked the idea of us being able to do it together,” she explained.

“My first pageant was just before Covid-19 hit, which put everything on hold, but finally we are back on stage together.”

The Redgrave’s cannot wait to line up alongside each other on July 23.

Nicola said: “We are hoping to do what no sisters have done before and both win a title together to then go on to Miss Great Britain together!”
