Two cars crashed at a busy Leigh junction, leaving fuel covering the road.
The crash happened at the junction of Elmsleigh Drive and London Road in Leigh yesterday. Witnesses claim a shop worker helped to rescue a man from a vehicle.
Images from the scene show emergency services and a badly damaged car in the busy street.
One witness said: "Two vehicles crashed at the junction of Elmsleigh Drive and London Road, a nearby shop security officer helped get the male out of his car.
"They also Essex Police in diverting the traffic as there was petrol leaked over the road."
Essex Police and the East of England Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
