Incident at Benfleet sees person pronounced dead, British Transport Police (inset - PA) confirm
A PERSON has died after being hit by a train at Benfleet station today.
Emergency services were at this scene around 12:20pm today following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

British Transport Police has since confirmed the person has sadly died.
A spokesman said: “Officers were called to Benfleet station at 12.20pm today (10 June) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended and sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
