Residents in Basildon may have seen firefighters at a school in the area today.
This is because Essex Fire Rescue Service carried out a training exercise in Fairview Road with about 20 firefighters involved.
They took part in a simulation which was based on a fire within in a school building, with people trapped inside.

Smoke could be seen billowing from the building with several fire engines at the site for the exercise.
The firefighters tested out the service's breathing apparatus and emergency procedures.

Watch Manager Mark Blakebrough said: “Our training went well and we’d like to thank all the local residents for their patience during the exercise.”
A spokesman for the service added: "We regularly test emergency response procedures to ensure we are always there to keep everyone who lives, works and travels in Essex safe."
