Drivers were forced to swerve to avoid a family of geese trying to cross a busy road in Basildon earlier today.
Essex Police's control room deployed officers from the force's policing team to the A127 in Basildon this afternoon after a number of 999 calls.
The calls reported a family of 10 geese were trying to cross and walk in the carriageway.

Some drivers even reported having to swerve to avoid the animals.

The control room took to Twitter urging members of the public to bear with the officers whilst they tried to get the geese to safety.
It also advised there could be delays while officers dealt with the incident.
