
A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman was attacked near a Southend park yesterday.
Police were called to reports of a disturbance in Kensington Road, Southend, at 11.45am on Sunday, July 3.
A woman was found suffering from serious injuries and a 30-year-old man from Southend was arrested.
Police closed sections of Kensignton Road near Southchurch Park as they dealt with the crime scene.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "We have arrested a man following an assault in Kensington Road, Southend.
"A woman was found to have suffered serious injuries.
"A 30-year old-man from Southend has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
"Our enquiries are ongoing, and we are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.
