A child has been rushed to hospital after falling from a window at an address in south Essex.

A young boy was taken to hospital last night after falling from a window in Coronation Avenue in East Tilbury.

Emergency services were called to the scene at about 6.30pm and reports say the child had fallen from a block of flats.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We were called to reports a child had fallen from a window at an address in Coronation Avenue, East Tilbury at around 6.35pm on Tuesday, July 5.

"Emergency services attended and the child was taken to hospital."

It is unknown how old the child is or what his condition is at this time.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman added: "We were called to Coronation Avenue at around 6.30pm last night following reports that a child had been injured in a fall.

"An ambulance, ambulance officer and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance attended.

"Crews treated a male patient at the scene before transporting him by road to The Royal London Hospital for further assessment and care."
