Fire - A family is now homeless after the fire in Canvey (ECFRS)
FIRE crews were called into action early this morning after an outbuilding fire spread to two bungalows.
Teams from Canvey, Leigh, and Rayleigh were called to Vaagen Road, Canvey at 12:12am.
On arrival, crews reported that an outbuilding fire was affecting two bungalows and requested a crew from Basildon to assist.
A spokesman for Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters worked to prevent the fire damaging the second bungalow and extinguished the fire by 1:18am.
"The roof of one of the bungalows was destroyed and has rendered a family homeless.
"An investigation into the cause of the fire will take place today."
