THIS week the line-up was announced for the new Southend City Festival.

Here is everything you need to about the upcoming event:

The Southend City Festival is a music festival set to draw in more than 10,000 people.

It will be held at inside an aircraft hangar at Southend Airport across three days in September (2-4).

Star acts were announced earlier this week with Africa Express, Fabio and Grooverider, the Outlook Orchestra, and the Music Man Project headlining the festival.

Africa Express brings together musicians from different cultures, genres, and generations to break boundaries and offer a new perspective on Africa and its music.

Fabio and Grooverider will be joining The Outlook Orchestra to present a special score celebrating a history of jungle, and drum and bass.

The Music Man Project will be closing the festival on Sunday.

Sam Duckworth, more commonly known as Get Cape Wear Cape Fly, has been leading the project alongside the council, DP World, the Town2City Partnership, The Music Man Project, Southend Airport, and the chamber of trade.

Tickets for the event have already gone on sale.

Prices are £20 for the Friday and the Saturday, and £10 for the Sunday.

There are also accessible and child-friendly options available.
