A MAJOR road in Leigh is closed due to emergency works following a power cut at the weekend.
Entry into Rectory Grove, Leigh, and Elm Road at the Rectory Grove junction will be temporarily closed to facilitate emergency power fault supplies.
The works come after incident on Saturday which saw residents lose power.

It is anticipated the works could last for around one week.
Due to the closure buses will also be affected with the number 21 having to be diverted.

The above service is diverting as Rectory Grove/Elm Rd are closed Southend bound.
We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.
The notice means all vehicles will be prohibited from entering Elm Road at its junction with Rectory Grove.
However, an alternative route will be marked on the site and resident’s access will be maintained where possible.
