A busy road in Benfleet is shut for repairs after a burst water main has caused significant damage.
A section of the Bread and Cheese Hill in South Benfleet has been closed after the water main burst in the early hours of this morning (July 28).
This has caused significant damage to London Road by New Park Road and Waverley Road, according to The People's Independent Party.
The road could be shut for a number of days while repairs take place.

Lynsey McCarthy-Calvert, a People's Independent Party councillor, said: "I have spoken to Essex and Suffolk Water on site who will be working continuously through the day and night until works are complete.
"I’m informed this may take a few days.
"I will check on progress daily and update as appropriate."
Essex and Suffolk Water have been contacted for further information.
