IT has been a busy year for permanent make-up entrepreneur Karen Harvey-Coran.

She has opened a stunning clinic on London Road in Leigh and has learned this week that she has won overall winner for semi-permanent make-up and gold for best brows, in the East of England at the Hair and Beauty Awards 2022.

“It has been an exciting year so far. I took on the premises in April and spent May renovating and then opened after the Platinum Jubilee weekend. It has been a dream of mine to have my own clinic with my name above the door and it’s been amazing to have it come true,” said Kerry.

“I also have other people working for me now offering treatments such as botox, fillers and facials. Often semipermanent make artists would base themselves in a room within a salon, and it is rare to have a dedicated clinic, so it’s been great to do that and it shows the increase in popularity when it comes to semi-permanent make-up.”

The Level 4 trained semipermanent make-up artist offers an expert service. “There are lots of semipermanent make-up artists popping up, but not all are equally qualified,” explained Karen.

“I am Level 4 trained and that is the highest you can get. Others might offer a cheaper alternative but not they may not be trained to the same standard.”

Karen offers treatments for brows, lips and eyes at her clinic and she has her finger on the pulse when it comes to the ever evolving industry. “I use social media to get my brand out to people and keep them informed of everything I am doing with the business.

“I also go to lots of masterclasses to make sure I stay fresh and and up to date,” said Karen.

“This comes across in my work, the fact that I am never standing still, and I am always making my best is better.”
