PITSEA Recycling Centre has re-opened after being closed for five days following a missing person probe.

Bosses confirmed the site has now re-opened after having to close due to a police incident relating to the investigation of missing mum, Madison Wright.

Wat Tyler Country Park has also been closed since last Saturday, however, unlike Pitsea Recycling Centre, still remains shut.

The closures come after a body was found in Wat Tyler Country Park at the weekend.

A spokesman for Essex County Council said: “Pitsea Recycling Centre has re-opened and is operating with usual opening hours”.

Garry Bennett, 36, was charged with murder as part of the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of 30-year-old Madison Wright.

Madison Wright, a mother from Basildon, had not been seen or heard from since Friday, July 22.

The formal identification process of the discovered body is yet to take place, but Madison’s family has been informed.

A spokesman for Wat Tyler Country Park confirmed they still remain closed.

They said: “Thursday, August 4, we remain closed.

“We are deeply saddened by what has happened in our park and we continue to assist the police with their enquiries and investigation.
