A BURST water main has seen a huge hole appear as the road is pulled up in Rayleigh.

Part of Daws Heath Road, in Rayleigh, is closed due to a burst water main early this morning.

Reports suggest the incident occurred at around 7am this morning.

Following the burst water main a huge hole has appeared in the road with workers already on site to try and repair the issue.

Daws Heath Road is now closed from the junction near to Wyburns Ave, towards the A127. 

It is yet unknown how long repairs will take, or how bad damage is.

But Essex and Suffolk Water and Essex County Council has been contacted for comment on the incident.
