A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of causing GBH with intent in connection with a stabbing incident.

The incident at around 2:45pm yesterday, in London Road, Rayleigh, saw a 19-year-old victim injured with a knife.

He sustained injuries to his arm, hand, and chest.

A 20-year-old man from the town has been arrested in connection with the incident and has since been released on bail.

Essex Police are appealing for witnesses as they believe there were a significant number of people who saw what happened.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “A man’s been arrested in connection with an incident where another man was injured with a knife in Rayleigh.

“We were called to reports of a fight involving two men in London Road at around 2.45pm yesterday (Saturday 6 August).

“The victim, a 19-year-old man, sustained injuries to his arm, hand, and chest.

“A 20-year-old man from the town has been arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent.

“He’s since been released on bail until 2 September.

“This incident took place in the middle of the day on a busy road, and we believe there will be a significant number of people who will have seen what happened.
