Basildon TV personality Denise Van Outen has been tipped to join this year's I'm A Celebrity as it will be back in the Australian jungle.

William Hill has added Denise Van Outen to their I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here market, pricing her at 7-1 to be a contestant on this year’s series.

After two years, the TV show is making a return to its inaugural Australian jungle, where celebs will battle it out for the title of King or Queen of the Jungle.

Speculation is rife as to who will enter the jungle this year, as presenters Ant and Dec spoke on Heart Radio on their excitement to return: "The plan is, we're going back to Australia, we don't want to go elsewhere.

"It's got to go back to it. Back to its spiritual home, back to where it all started."

After revealing that she is often approached by producers to go on the show, Van Outen turned down the offer last year, claiming she’ll go for it once they return to the jungle.

The 48-year-old presenter, singer and dancer rose to fame on Channel 4’s The Big Breakfast, and has performed on both Broadway and the West End in musical number Chicago.

Van Outen is also no stranger to a TV competition, having come runner up in the tenth series of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing and appeared on Dancing on Ice.

Now the show is returning to its "spiritual home" of Australia, UK bookmakers think this could be Van Outen’s year and have priced her at 7-1 to take on those bushtucker trials.

The top five favourites to take part in I’m A Celebrity 2022 are boxer Kell Brook (8-15), referee Mike Dean (8-11), Chris Kamara (EVS), Neil Warnock (2-1) and Danny Dyer (5-1).

Tony Kenny, head of sponsorship PR at William Hill, commented: “She’s done Strictly, she’s done Dancing on Ice, so it only makes sense for TV legend Denise Van Outen to complete the holy trinity with I’m A Celeb.

"With her bubbly personality and good sense of fun, we’re quite surprised that Denise hasn’t already been on the show.

"As the months trickle by, speculation is rife as to who will be up for bushtucker trials this year."
