A DRIVER was arrested for drug possession and assault following a routine traffic stop.
Essex Police officers hailed down a black Ford Fiesta in Shoebury in the early hours of the morning.
The driver allegedly gave officers false details as he was wanted for common assault, two other warrants, and was disqualified from driving.
A search of his persons discovered class A and B drugs.
His car was seized and he was arrested.
A police spokesman said: "Driver gave false details because he was disqualified from driving & wanted for common assault and 2 warrants. We also found Class A and B drugs on him. Arrested for obstruction and the offences above, vehicle seized!"
