Officers made an 8-hour round trip overnight to collect a man arrested for Southend police.
Three officers from Essex Police's operational support group (OSG) travelled to Mansfield last night to collect a prisoner arrested there on behalf of Southend police.
The trio made a whopping 8-hour round trip.
An Essex OSG spokesman said: "Overnight we have had three officers travel to Mansfield custody at Notts Police to collect a prisoner arrested there on behalf of Essex Police Southend.
"Male collected and dropped off to Southend Custody. 8 hour round trip but it’s what we do."
