The Royal Air Force's Battle of Britain memorial flight landed at Southend Airport this afternoon as it takes part in an airshow over the weekend.

The iconic Spitfire, Lancaster and Hurricane were all snapped landing at the airport this afternoon after performing at Eastbourne Airbourne.

Southend Airport is also set to host the popular Red Arrows for the first time as they use the city as a base as part of the airshow.

The RAF Red Arrows display team will be based at Southend Airport tomorrow, and Saturday.

According to their schedule, they are due to land at Southend at approximately 5.07pm, before taking off to head to Eastbourne at approximately 4.17pm on Saturday.

Eastbourne Airshow is taking place until Sunday, August 21, drawing huge crowds as it boasts a 2-mile flying display line along the seafront.

The display includes the memorial flight and the Red Arrows as well as RAF Typhoon.
