Where: London Southend Airport, Eastwoodbury Cres, Southend, SS2 6YF.

When: Saturday 27 August, gates open at 11.30 am and the taxi-run will start at 1pm.

Cost: Adult tickets cost £50, for an Vulcan Restoration Trust member it’s £25; under 16s (must be over 12 years of age) it’s £15.

Celebrate the classic jet’s 60th Birthday as the Vulcan blasts down the runway.

Visitors can view the amazing spectacle from the Vulcan Restoration Trust's visitor area in front of the hangar. The area offers uninterrupted views across the airport, perfect for photographic opportunities.

XL426 will make two passes down the runway. The second pass will be at high-speed, where it will deploy her brake parachute (subject to serviceability). The XL426 will then taxi back to the apron area, giving a superb close-up view as the Vulcan taxies in and shuts down her engines.

Essex Fire Museum open day

Where: Essex Fire Museum, Grays Fire Station, Hogg Lane, Grays, RM17 5QS

When: Sunday 28 August, from 10am to 4pm.

Cost: free

There will be fun trails around the museum, old fire engines to sit on and squirt water as well as an and arts and crafts area.

The Essex Fire Museum open day gives visitors the opportunity to take a fascinating look at the history of the Fire Service in Essex.

Visitors should be aware that it is a cash only site.

The museum visit is free but visitors must be pre-booked as it is on the site of a working fire station.

Ghost walk with the Mystery on Sea Walking Tour

Where: Royal Square, Southend

Join the professional magicians and entertainers Adrian Fox and Tracy Wise for an innovative and entertaining exploration into the history, mystery, and ghost tales associated with the historic Royal Terrace and Clifftown areas of Southend, all laced with themed magic along the way.

The route begins and ends at Royal Square situated between the Royal Hotel and Park Inn Hotel and takes around 90 minutes per tour. The walk is taken at a leisurely pace and is suitable for those with walking aids or wheelchairs.

It is suitable for ages 12 and above and friendly, well-behaved dogs are also welcome.

South East Dance Festival

South East Dance Festival is coming to Garon Park with Old Skool, Garage and House Music, as well as fairground rides and more.

All Things Nice, On The Deck 2022

Where: The Boatyard, 8-13 High Street, Leigh

When: August Saturday 27, 12pm to 5pm

Relax and enjoy a chilled out bank holiday with All Things Nice, who is hosting a luxury party at The Boatyard.
