STUNNING motors of the past formed the perfect backdrop as enthusiasts descended on Southend seafront for a classic cars festival on Sunday along the seafront.
Visitors were treated to a glimpse of well-preserved cars from the 1920s through to the cut-off date of 1997.
Cars on display included a VW camper, a Rover 2000, a yellow Ford Mustang, a white BMW M3, three pristine Ford Escorts, a blue Austin, a white Ford Granada and a black Mercedes E Class, plus many more.
Visitors had the chance to speak to owners about their cars and have a look at the classic motors.
The free shows have been running since 2013 and the next events are September 18 and October 16.
Nick Jones, from the Southend and District Classic Car Club, took over as organiser for the event in 2014.
“It really has become an extremely successful event and is enjoyed by the public and the car owners alike,” said Nick.
“The owners are always happy to talk about their cars, and you always hear ‘my mum or dad had one of those as my first car’. You have to be an extrovert to own a classic car. For me, I love the whole scene of old cars no matter what they are, so come on down to the seafront at Southend and have a look and chat at the next event.”
