Victims were robbed of their bikes by a group of armed boys near a popular woodland in Leigh.
The bike owners were targeted by the gang which was armed with a knife near Belfairs Woods yesterday just before 5.30pm.
A worried resident took to Facebook to post about the incident and others of the robbery.
Essex Police confirmed police attended the scene and says enquiries are ongoing.

An Essex Police spokesman said: "We were called to Eastwood Road in Leigh shortly before 5:30pm yesterday following reports of a robbery.
"The victims were approached by a group of boys, who reportedly threatened them with a knife before stealing two bikes from them.
"Officers attended and enquiries remain ongoing. Anyone with any information is asked to contact us quoting reference 867 of 13 September."
