David Payne is spot on regarding the apparent lack of money, and lack of interest and commitment re- garding the pier shown by present, and past, members of Southend Council (Letters Apr 4).
However, the only place he is likely to get a straight answer is from the Pier Museum. Can they throw some light on the matter?
When will the council come out in public and admit they do not intend to do anything about the pier?
